David has over 30 years of experience in financial services. Prior to joining South Watch, he was the Executive Vice President of Financial Operations of the Blackstone portfolio company, Hotwire Communications. While at Hotwire, he was responsible for the accounting, financial planning and analysis, tax and treasury departments. Previous to Hotwire, he was the CFO of Old Ironsides Energy, a private equity fund asset manager specializing in the oil and gas upstream and midstream industry, created from the spin out of the Liberty Energy team from Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Before joining Old Ironsides, David was the CFO of the Highland Consumer Fund a venture capital fund specializing in retail and consumer products. He previously held the position of Controller at the leverage buy out shop, THL Partners and was the Director of Operations at Hemisphere Financial Services, a third-party fund administrator for hedge and private equity funds. Prior to Hemisphere, he worked at Deloitte within both the audit and tax functions.

Paul is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, with the last 20+ years focused on the alternative investment space. Paul is the founder and Co-Managing Partner of South Watch, LLC. Prior to founding South Watch, Paul was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Game Creek Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund based in Boston. At Game Creek, Paul focused on building out the back office operations and compliance infrastructure while advising on the general operations of the firm.

Before joining Game Creek Capital, Paul was Vice President of SS&C GlobeOp, which acquired his firm Gravity Financial in 2012. Along with his current partner, Kirby Richards, Paul was Co-Managing Member of Gravity Financial, a boutique hedge fund administrator that specialized in working with start-up hedge funds. During his time at Gravity Financial, Paul worked closely with hedge fund managers on all aspects of their business including fund structuring, accounting, operations, compliance and taxes. The same knowledge and experience that helped him manage a successful fund administration company was put to work for his clients.

Prior to Gravity Financial, Paul was a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer/Chief Compliance Officer at AlphaSimplex Group, a multi-strategy hedge fund manager and Registered Investment Adviser. Paul helped launch five hedge funds at AlphaSimplex, including domestic and offshore entities with strategies ranging from global macro to commodities and currencies and long/short equity.

Paul began his career at Deloitte in Boston where he spent his first two years in their tax department working with investment partnerships and mutual fund clients. He ended his career at Deloitte as a Senior Audit Manager in their Alternative Investment Management practice.

Kirby is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Kirby is Co-Managing Partner at South Watch, LLC. Prior to joining South Watch, Kirby was Chief Operating Officer for Disciplined Alpha LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor specializing in systemic equity and macro strategies. At Disciplined Alpha Kirby managed all aspects of the business operations.

Before joining Disciplined Alpha, Kirby was Vice President of SS&C GlobeOp and was responsible for the Boston office, which focused on providing fund administration services to alternative investment partnerships. He also provided tax preparation and consulting services to one of SS&C’s largest Boston clients. He joined SS&C when they acquired Gravity Financial, LLC, a boutique hedge fund administrator which he founded in 2002. Along with his current partner, Paul Timmins, Kirby was Co-Managing Member of Gravity Financial. Gravity Financial provided accounting, tax and consulting services to over 65 hedge funds ranging in AUM from several million to just under $1 billion.

Prior to Gravity Financial, Kirby held the position of Chief Financial Officer for an alternative asset manager, which managed five Long/Short hedge funds focused on the Technology and Healthcare sectors. He also spent time at Investors Bank & Trust and The Boston Company.

Kirby began his career with the Big 4 accounting firm Deloitte and worked within both the audit and tax functions. He left Deloitte as a Senior Tax Manager.

David has over 15 years of experience in the hedge fund industry and is currently a partner at South Watch. He works with a wide range of clients providing daily accounting, trade processing, investor servicing and operational support. David’s experience working with hedge funds at every stage of their life cycle is invaluable to startups and experienced managers alike.

Prior to joining South Watch, David was a Director with SS&C GlobeOp in their Boston office where he focused on domestic and offshore hedge funds, fund of funds and private equity funds. David managed many aspects of the business from client onboarding, daily and monthly NAV calculations, year-end reporting and financial statement preparation as well as staffing, training and systems implementations. David joined SS&C when they acquired Gravity Financial, a boutique hedge fund administrator where David was a Manager.

John has almost 20 years of experience in the private equity and hedge fund industry and is currently a manager at South Watch. Prior to joining South Watch, John was a Controller with AMERRA Capital, a Midtown Manhattan based private equity fund specializing in both private debt financing and traditional private equity, both in their investment management business as well as working directly at one of their portfolio companies.

Before joining AMERRA Capital, John was an assistant manager with SS&C GlobeOp in their Midtown Manhattan office where he focused on fund of funds and private equity funds. John managed the day to day operations for his client funds, prepared quarterly financial statement packages, and worked with auditors to complete the financial statement audits.

John began his career at Rothstein Kass in Roseland, NJ where he worked as a senior accountant on their hedge fund audit team performing audit and tax work for domestic and offshore hedge funds and fund of funds.
